How to wash shell styles

Jackets, anorak, ponchos, and pants created with our Care Tech fabric.

When it’s time to wash your poncho, pants or other BLÆST products created using our Care Tech fabric, you can easily do that by following these steps:

  1. Do not dry clean.

  2. Close all zippers, buttons, and sleeve cuffs.

  3. We recommend using a washing bag (like Guppyfriend) to minimize microfiber release and to protect the fabric. Dispose of lint in the trash after washing.

  4. Remove the attachable reflective tags. If your product has a belt, you should remove this too, if possible.

  5. Make sure you wash the garment separately.

  6. Special detergents for shell garments are available, but a mild, eco-certified option works just as well. Use the right amount to care for both your jacket and the planet.

  7. We recommend avoiding fabric conditioner, as it isn’t eco-friendly and may reduce the performance of your technical clothing.

  8. Machine wash at 30ºC. If possible, select a wash cycle that rinses the garment twice.

  9. Hang the product to dry. Do not tumble dry.

  10. Do not iron.

Water repellent spray

As an add-on you can use water repellent spray on the outside of the garment after washing, for optimal water-resistance. This has nothing to do with the waterproof quality of the garment, but it does make it easier for water to roll off the outer fabric.

You can use water repellent spray on jackets, ponchos and pants created using the Care Tech material.
