BLÆST is part of Aalesund Protective Wear AS (hereinafter referred to as "AAPW"). Here, we will provide an overview of the information we process and why we do it.

AAPW is the owner of the brands:

Below you will find an overview of what information AAPW processes about you and why.

Personal Data Controller

AAPW is responsible for the processing of your personal data when you visit our website, when you contact us,, if you create a user account, for our customers, for job applicants, and so on.

This means that we are responsible for and committed to processing your personal data in a lawful, responsible, and secure manner. The processing will take place in accordance with the Norwegian Personal Data Act and GDPR, and only when it is necessary to fulfil the purposes described below. 

The information we process

We process this information and for the following purposes:

Contact, user account and customer service

When you provide us with information about yourself to receive customer service, create a user account, or for other reasons get in touch with us, we use the information to be able to respond to your inquiries, administer your user account, and provide customer service. For these purposes, the following data is processed:

  • Full name.

  • Telephone number.

  • Email address.

  • Postal address.

  • Information related to an order or delivery.

  • Other information you provide in your inquiry.

If your request relates to a possible or completed order, or your user account with BLÆST or other AAPW brands, the processing is necessary to fulfil an agreement with you or to take steps at your request prior to entering into an agreement (GDPR Art. 6 (1) b). If the inquiry does not relate to an order, the legal basis for the processing is our legitimate interest in handling and responding to inquiries that we receive (GDPR Art. 6 (1) f).

The above information is stored for a period of 3 years, or for as long as you are a customer of AAPW.

Purchase and follow-up of deliveries

When you provide us with information about yourself through our website to make a purchase of goods for yourself or on behalf of your company, or via e.g. email or telephone, we use this information to make delivery, to invoice, and receive payment from you or your company.

We also process personal data for the following purchase purposes:

  • To be able to inform you about services that may improve your shopping experience with us. For example, new products, new payment solutions or other new services that you can decide for yourself whether you want to use or not.

  • To be able to handle and settle returns or complaints made by you.

For these purposes, the following personal data is processed:

  • Name.

  • Mobile phone number.

  • Email address.

  • Postal address.

  • Purchase information including payment.

  • Weight and contents in package.

  • Order history.

  • Other information you provide.

The processing of this information is necessary to fulfil an agreement with you or to carry out measures you have requested prior to entering into an agreement (GDPR Art. 6 (1) b).

The above information is stored for a period of 3 years, or for as long as you are a customer of AAPW.

Newsletter

We send you newsletters by email if you have subscribed to such, so that you can receive various types of information and offers. Signing up to receive newsletters is voluntary, and you will only receive this if you have explicitly consented to this (GDPR. Art. 6 (1) a, and the Marketing Act § 15).

Unsubscribing from our newsletter is simple, either by contacting us or by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each of our newsletters. Please note that it is not possible to unsubscribe from emails to you containing receipts, information about delivery, etc., related to your orders and purchases.

The above information is stored for a period of 3 years, or for as long as your consent is in force.

We want our newsletters to be perceived as relevant and valuable to you, and if we have your consent, we will use the anytime relevant information about you to adapt the newsletters, to make the offers and content in the letters as interesting and relevant as possible. This may be, for example, names and areas of interest, if you have provided this, as well as your order history. This information is stored for a period of 3 years, or for as long as your consent is in force.

When sending newsletters, we may measure the opening rate of the letter, clicks on links, and create statistics and analyses to improve our newsletters. The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest in providing relevant newsletters (GDPR Art. 6 (1) f)).

We use HubSpot as our newsletter provider.

Visiting our website(s) and use of cookies

When you visit our websites, we use cookies to collect personal information that can be indirectly linked to you as a person. The websites are as follows:

When visiting the website, a cookie is placed to recognize your computer, tablet, or mobile phone. A cookie is a small text file that many websites use to be able to recognize your computer, mobile, or tablet each time. The text file is a passive file and will not be able to spread viruses or other malicious programs.

The cookie provides information about your activity on our website and makes it easier for you to use the website. For example, cookies allow your mobile phone or computer to remember login details upon your next visit.

Cookies will also provide us with some information about your behavior on our websites. Among other things, we can keep track of which items you have added to your shopping cart, provide you with necessary information in your user account, and to obtain statistics from the website to analyze our traffic. We also use cookies to give content and ads a personal touch, and to deliver features related to social media. In general, we use cookies as part of our services, and to be able to present you with content that is as relevant as possible to you.

Our websites use a combination of necessary cookies, preference cookies, statistics cookies, and marketing cookies, and some are set by third party services that appear on our pages:

  • Necessary cookies make our websites usable by enabling basic functions, such as page navigation and access to secure areas of the websites. Our websites will not function optimally without these cookies.

  • Functional cookies make it possible to store information that changes the way the website looks or behaves, e.g. your preferred language or according to the geographical area you are in.

  • Statistical cookies help AAPW understand how visitors interact with its websites by collecting and reporting information.

  • Marketing cookies are used to track visitors across websites. The purpose is to show ads that are relevant and engaging to the individual user, and thus more valuable to publishers and third-party advertisers.

When you visit our website, we collect the following information about you:

  • IP-address (which is an identifier on your computer),

  • information about your browser;

  • operating system,

  • approximate location,

  • as well as which website you came from.

You can reject cookies and/or cookies from third parties by opt out and/or changing the settings in the browser on your computer, tablet, or mobile. The location of settings depends on the browser you are using. You can find more information on how to do this from your browser provider, such as Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Safari, etc. However, you should be aware that if you reject all cookies, there will be functions and services that you can no longer use on our websites (as these are dependent on cookies).

We process this data based on our legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6 (1) f) to ensure a smooth connection to the website, comfortable use of our website, to evaluate system security and stability, and also for further administrative purposes. The data is stored for a maximum period of two years, but most of the data is deleted after a shorter period than this. We use the provider HubSpot to operate our websites cookies. Social media

We process your personal data to be able to show you more relevant ads in digital platforms, including in social media.

AAPW and its brands have Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn accounts. The social media gives us access to see posts, likes, followers, comments, and messages, as well as aggregated information about visits and activity on our pages, boards, and personalized ads. Our processing is based on our legitimate interest in reaching out to customers and potential customers (GDPR. Art. 6 (1) f).

The social media you visit are the data controllers for the information you leave there. We do not store this information ourselves, but we have access to it as long as we have our social media accounts. You may at any time delete information about you, e.g. by removing content or reactions you have posted. Please note that your data will not be deleted simply by unfollowing our site.

Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn process personal data in the United States and other countries listed in their privacy policies. You can get more information about how Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn process personal data in their respective privacy policies. We encourage you to read these. The basis for transfer is based on the EU's standard clauses.

Statistics and analysis

If you provide your consent, we use Google Analytics (GA4) and to obtain information about which pages are most visited, the users location, at what times the pages are visited, etc., in order to better understand how our users use the website, to maintain your user session on our websites, for statistics, to study traffic, patterns of use, and trends on the website.

By analyzing the statistics, we can better understand market trends. We do this to improve and further develop our offered products and services. As far as possible, we try to make this happen with anonymous information, and without linking the information to you specifically.

Recruitment

For recruitment purposes, we process personal data we have received from the job applicant to implement measures at the job applicant's request prior to entering a contract (GDPR. Art. 6 (1) b), or based on the job applicant's consent, cf. GDPR. Art. 6 (1) a). Sensitive personal data processed in this regard is necessary for AAPW to be able to fulfil its obligations as a potential employer (GDPR. Art. 9 (2) b).

Any aptitude and personality tests, as well as online searches, are based on AAPW's legitimate interest in finding the right candidate, cf. GDPR. Art. 6 (1) f). We will only contact the job applicant's references if we have obtained your consent to do so (GDPR Art. 6 (1) a).

The above information is stored for a period of 1 year, or for as long as you are employed by AAPW.

Other means of processing

AAPW is required by law to fulfil certain obligations that involve the processing of personal data. Such obligations will, for example, be in connection with the Accounting Act, requirements for storage and compilation, and obligation to disclose information to the competent authority in accordance with legislation (GDPR, Art. 6 (1) c).

Sharing and transfer of personal data

In some cases, it will be necessary to share your information with other companies that AAPW cooperates with.  We do not pass on your personal data to others unless there is a lawful basis for such disclosure, and we do not sell your information to others.

For delivery, AAPW uses suppliers of delivery services, such as Bring and DHL, and in this connection information about you is shared.

We also have our partners in social media, advertising and analytics. In cases where you accept that we adapt our marketing to other advertising platforms, this transfer will be based on your consent. For more information in this respect, please see the section on newsletters. This information may be combined with other information that you have made available to them, or that they have collected through your use of their services.

As of today, we use Google Analytics (GA4) and Meta Pixel. The data collected through our use of such analysis tools is processed in an anonymous format and we are therefore unable to link the information to you.

As a general rule, your personal data will not be shared with partners outside the EU and EEA. However, some of our subcontractors, such as Google Analytics (GA4), in some cases operate outside the EU/EEA. This use therefore entails a transfer of your personal data outside the EU/EEA. These transfers are based on EU’s Standard Contractual Clauses, and the implementation of security measures, such as encryption and strict protocols, to ensure that all data transfers comply with the GDPR and that the privacy of users is maintained.

Storage of personal data

We process your data in accordance with applicable laws, which means that we do not store your personal data for longer than is necessary. In practical terms, the data will be removed when it is no longer relevant or necessary for the analyses and the purposes for which it was collected. Specific storage periods are indicated under the description of the various processing activities where possible.

Information about related to GDPR- requests is retained for a period of 3 years. Information we are obliged to store under the Bookkeeping Act is stored for as long as we are obliged to keep it, usually 3.5 or 5 years.

Your rights

The law provides you with several rights to help you safeguard your privacy. These rights include:

  • The right to access a copy of, to correct, and update the personal data of you we hold (pursuant to GDPR Chapter 3).

  • The right to restrict the processing of the data, or to have your data deleted.

If our processing is based on your consent, you may also withdraw your consent at any time. Please contact us by email indicated below if you wish to withdraw your consent.

If you believe our processing of your data not to be in accordance with applicable laws, please let us know by email. You can also make a complain about our processing to the supervisory authority, the Norwegian Data Protection Authority. Changes to the privacy policy

We may update the Privacy Policy from time to time. In the event of significant changes, we will, if practicable, notify you by e-mail. The latest version of the privacy policy is always available on our website.
